“If you hire people just because they can do a job, they’ll work for your money. But if you hire people who believe what you believe, they’ll work for you with blood and sweat and tears.”
 Simon Sinek, author & speaker

Nexus Consultancy Services provides incomparable solutions to your recruitment needs.

Our new, innovative video interview software allows suitable candidates to be interviewed and videoed live then self-record pre-selected questions allowing us to forward the video, a synopsis of our candidate’s accolades and their CV to our clients.

Only once this process has been administered successfully do we arrange interviews with our clients.

Nexus at Facilities Management 2017

The Facilities Management 2017 event is a hub of influencers and decision makers from across the country working in the Facilities Management sectors. The event provides many networking opportunities, alongside educational seminars and features. Nexus staff Josh and Becky attended the event this year on it’s last day.

The event is held at the NEC in Birmingham, providing a perfect venue for facilities professionals to come together from all sectors. The event itself houses three smaller exhibitions; The Health & Safety Event, The Fire Safety Event, and Maintec. There were over 400 exhibitors at the event.

Facilities Management 2017 was a great chance to meet people within the industry we work for. Our staff got the chance to meet new companies, and see new products, while networking with new people in the industry and old friends! The team had a fantastic time and everyone we met was friendly, approachable and great to talk to. We look forward to meeting with our new contacts in the future.

PS – it looks like Josh and Becky  might have found new careers in cleaning!!

Would you drink dirty water?

You wake up and you’re thirsty. Your mouth is bone dry. You need a drink. Imagine your horror when dirty, brown water comes out of the tap or, even worse, no water at all. You look in your cupboards but they are completely bare. You are going to have to drink the dirty water. You go to the bathroom for a shower but no water comes out, and you have to keep wearing the clothes you’ve been wearing for weeks. What would you do in this situation?

Unfortunately, this is a reality for some people across the globe.

“Every day, 1400 children die from diarrhoea caused by dirty water. This is just a proportion of the 4 million deaths from water-related diseases and poor sanitation each year.” [source]

“The South Sudan famine is pushing vulnerable people to the brink – they’re barely surviving on what they can find to eat in swamps.” [source]

“East Africa is in the grip of a devastating food crisis. Millions of families are facing starvation because of droughts in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia.” [source]

These people rely on charities such as Oxfam UK for their basic human needs such as water, food, and sanitation. Oxfam work hard to help countries facing emergency situations and send aid to prevent the situation turning into a crisis. Oxfam look for effective ways to provide water to poverty stricken countries. They work with the local community to make sure that their methods are cost-effective and will provide long term help for the people.

Providing water, some thing we in the UK take for granted, can help kick-start farming to provide food sources, improve sanitation therefore reducing stress on limited health care and allow people the chance to earn a living.

Help us help them by sponsoring Nexus as we take on a swimming challenge to raise money for Oxfam. On the 22nd March, Nexus and S4 Swim School South Staffordshire will be swimming as many lengths as possible in 15 minutes. Sounds too easy? We’re going to be tying our legs together to make the team work that little bit harder!

Please donate generously to this amazing charity. Click here to donate to our sponsored swim and wish the team luck!

The team at Nexus Consultancy Services and S4 Swim School South Staffordshire have created this page because we want to make a difference. After reading of the work Oxfam does for places such as Sudan, we were inspired to support the charity and raise as much money as possible by doing a sponsored swim to coincide with World Water Day.

Please donate today. The more people that know about Oxfam GB, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing this page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

Christmas at Nexus Consultancy Services

Christmas is fast approaching and the office is full of Christmas cheer!

As our offices close before Christmas, the Nexus staff made the executive decision that the tree should be put up in the first week of December so we could all enjoy it for that little bit longer. Becky had the daunting task of decorating the tree so she enlisted the help of Anna’s daughter Molli to make sure it looked perfectly festive.

This year’s Christmas staff outing was at the Glee Club in Birmingham. After a delicious three-course meal, we enjoyed a hilarious evening of entertainment from the comedians performing that night. It was a brilliant night and a great way to celebrate the achievements of the team over the past year.

Nexus Consultancy Services will be out of office over the Christmas period from the 21st December and re-opening on the 3rd January 2017. All consultants and office staff can be contacted via email or mobile during this period however may not reply immediately due to being on annual leave.

Nexus wishes all our clients and candidates a very Merry Christmas and we hope you enjoy the festive period.
